The idea stemmed from these lovely things I found a few months ago. They were a gift to two special people.
The man has hemochromatosis, so he made a joke that the red one HAD to be him.
Oh my gosh, my first DD! I cannot even believe it! I don't deserve such an amazing honor
Thank you so much to ^Astralseed for giving it, and ~smallsmiles for recommending~
Umm, maybe I might owe an explanation for this piece? It's up to anyone's interpretation, of course.
It's based around the true story of a woman who found the man she truly loved. But both of them found each other near the age of 60. She had been searching for years, and had already made a family of her own adopted daughters. And the man had been through two divorces.
She was worn down and exhausted.
He was breaking down.
In the past few months, he recently suffered a heart attack and two types of cancer, and surgery. He lived with hemochromatosis for most of his life as well as severe sleep apnea.
They sought comfort in each other, and stayed to hold each other up and support one another. But he was also a traveler. They were only together for short periods of time. She was so afraid of losing him, and was aware of the limited time they had to share.
She often spoke about how she was never closer and further from one person at the same time.
She said he was slipping from her fingers.

I love this piece and it makes my mouth water as I see the drips flow away from the embrace...almost as if the upper hugging is squeezing away below. The drips from her right hand is especially telling - trying to hold onto something as it is slipping away.
If this is where you are going with your art, then you are most definitely aiming yourself in a direction that is fantastic and wonderful!
The streaks of red, black and gray really add a depressing touch, which makes you think of what these two have been through. The marks on his arm also add to the photo, which is another symbolism of pain and hardship; trying to overcome something. The way that these two are embracing each other shows how they feel about each other and how it seems as if they would do anything for each other.
This is a very imaginative art piece which I admire. It truly deserved to be put as the DD and I really don't see why it wasn't put sooner. Amazing job, anyone can see the effort that you put into it, and would have to be blind not to.
the art is beautiful
it reminds me of silent hill
This artwork is just outstanding. I love the mixed media and the colors here. The difference in colors adds to the longing and distance (figuratively) they have between each other. I absolutely love your gallery and can hardly stop faving. Keep up the fantastic hope. I hope to see you develop a personal style in future.
Oh, all my paintings and drawings things are taken with a camera c: I don't have a scanner ;0;
But I use iPhoto mainly to edit the lighting and coloring so it looks like this c:

Many people out there copy Agnes Cecile's painting to the T and never says anything about it
Thank you so much for sharing your idea~ I really like your interpretation It can be looked at in many ways. From his point of view, it probably looks like that as well!
